Coming off the heels of celebrating the tenth anniversary of their debut album, Colony House is back with part one of their new album, entitled 77. The first part was released on September 5. Before the official album announcement, the band announced the 77 Tour Pt. 1. A month-long tour across the East and Midwest United States, as well as a stop in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. On the release day of 77 Pt. 1, they stated this was “as honest a Colony House record” they’ve ever made. When Colony House describes why they called the album 77, it almost seems random. When recording the title track, it landed at 77 BPM (beats per minute) on November 7. When they googled the meaning of 77, Google popped up with the following: “Seeing 77 repeatedly may be interpreted as a sign that you are on the right path and should trust your intuition.”
The Franklin, Tennessee quartet made their stop in Toronto at The Opera House on October 4, 2025. Opening the show were rockers HAPPY LANDING, who mix rock with the twang of country very well. The band may be the perfect opener for a Colony House show, being able to match their energy as well as stand on their own as a band. I believe they will gain new fans on this tour that will come to their spring 2026 headline tour.
Colony House came out on stage with maybe their softest opening start to a set they’ve ever done. The band came out to the title track of their latest release and went into another new song entitled “Highwire.” The show builds and builds throughout the show rarely slowing down. Colony House took their set time and used the most of it by blowing the roof off the venue the entirety of the show.
The show did take a breather during their song “I’m Not Dyin’” which then led into an unreleased song called “You’re Right Where You’re Meant To Be” which seems like the whole concept of 77 revolves around that unreleased song. Caleb Chapman, the frontman, stated as much while standing in the middle of the crowd performing an acoustic version of their song “Moving Forward.”
You can catch Colony House on the rest of their tour through October 18, 2025, and then they will be opening for Flipturn in the UK / EU in November. While the 77 Pt. 2 tour has yet to be announced, the band announced the final show of the tour will be played at Nashville’s newest venue, The Pinnacle, on March 28, 2026. They named it their most ambitious show to date, as well as a grand finale to both tours and both parts of the album. It will also be Colony House’s largest headline show to date. The name of the venue really fits as the culmination of this album cycle and even Colony House as a band. Don’t miss this amazing live band and everything they have to offer if they come close to you, or maybe you can even go to them.
