Thrice Brings Their Fall Tour To Toronto’s Sold-Out Danforth Music Hall

Coming off a successful 20th anniversary celebration of their album The Artist In The Ambulance, Thrice is back with a new record and tour. Thrice released the second half of their Horizons albums, entitled Horizons/West, on October 3, 2025.  The predecessor, Horizons/East, was a more experimental album. While still encompassing the rock elements from the band’s previous releases, the album added a soft flair to their discography. Horizons/West keeps the experimentation while diving back into more of the post-hardcore elements from the band’s earlier releases. Their first single, “Gnash,” shows just how different this album is supposed to be. It showcases frontman Dustin Kensrue’s aggressive vocals with a jaw-dropping breakdown to end the song. That’s just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to this release.

The entire album isn’t as heavy as “Gnash” per se, but the lyricism and the complex topics are just as quality all throughout the album as previous releases. From the excellent buildup of the album opener, “Blackout,” to “Holding On” to the softer songs like “Albatross” and “Undertow,” this album is truly one of Thrice’s best in their incredible discography. But will it hold up live? The band announced their fall tour about a month before announcing their newest record. Fans speculated that Horizons/West was finally being released when a song clip of “Gnash” was present with the announcement. The tour started on October 17 in San Diego, California. Now, the band is halfway through the tour and are making their stop at Toronto’s sold-out Danforth Music Hall on November 4, 2025.

The bands Modern Color and Downward opened up the night, bringing their own aptitude to the show. Thrice high-fived each other and their crew to come onto stage with the interlude of their latest album, “Dusk,” going into “Blackout.” Thrice went through almost their entire discography, as well as showing love to some deep cuts such as the Vheissu song “For Miles” or The Artist In The Ambulance song “Paper Tigers.” However, the band did not shy away from incorporating most of their new album into their massive set. The band played eight out of the eleven songs. Even more if you count their VIP acoustic performance of “Distant Suns.” The band ends their set with “The Earth Will Shake,” leaving the crowd begging for more and more they will get. The band came back on stage for an unforgettable encore, including “Vesper Light” and officially ending the set with the fan favorite “Deadbolt.”

Thrice is a band that never disappoints. Even what fans think are their lesser quality releases are still better than average for a band over 25 years in their career. Thrice keeps producing quality after quality records and songs. Their concerts are the exact same way, where no tour is exactly the same, but they are filled to the brim with amazing songs spanning their entire discography. This tour is no different. Thrice is rightfully selling out shows, and people need to go see why.
